【摘要】:Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureforestimatingtheresistanceoftransparentplasticstoonekindofsurfaceabrasionbymeasurementofitsopticaleffects.Abrasivedamageisjudgedbythatpercentageoftransmittedlightwhich,inpassingthroughtheabradedtrack,deviatesfromtheincidentbeambyforwardscattering.Forthepurposeofthistestmethod,onlylightfluxdeviatingmorethan0.044rad(2.5?)ontheaverageisconsideredinthisassessmentofabrasivedamage.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Note1-RecentattemptstoemploytheTaberAbraserforvolumelossdeterminationsofvariousplastics,likeearlierones,havebeenunsuccessfulbecauseofexcessivelylargecoefficientsofvariationattributedtothedata.InsufficientagreementamongtheparticipatinglaboratorieshasrenderedtheuseofvolumelossprocedureinadvisableasanASTMtestmethod.Note2-Fordeterminingresistancetoabrasionofplasticsbymeasurementofvolumeloss,referenceshouldbemadetoTestMethodsD1242.Note3-Fordeterminingtheresistancetoabrasionoforganiccoatingsbyweightloss,referenceismadetoTestMethodD4060.ThistestusesmoreaggresiveCS-10orCS-17abrasivewheels.Itsuffersfrompoorreproducibilitybetweenlaboratorieswhennumericalabrasionresistancevaluesareused.Interlaboratoryagreementimprovessignificantlywhenrankingaseriesofcoatingsfortheirabrasionresistance.Note4-ThistestmethodissimilartoISO3444,andISO4586/2.Theirtechnicalcontentissomewhatdifferent.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecificprecautionarystatement,see7.1.2.
